Two large disbursements in the same month can put more pressure on escrow than the same bills several months apart.

How to approach the decision

Enter the annual bill amounts and align the withdrawal months to see the combined effect. Use the lowest balance as a planning signal, while using the servicer analysis for the formal assessment.

Worked example

InputExample
Opening escrow balance ($)$900.00
Monthly deposit ($)$430.00
Property tax bill ($)$3,200.00
Tax bill month (1–12)6
Insurance bill ($)$1,750.00
Insurance bill month (1–12)6
ResultEstimate
Lowest projected balance-$1,470.00
Lowest balance month (0 = opening)6
Projected year-end balance$1,110.00
Extra opening cash to avoid a negative balance$1,470.00

Deposits are added before each month’s entered tax and insurance bills. This cash-flow projection does not calculate a regulatory cushion, servicer shortage or a required escrow deposit.

What to verify

Verify the disbursement month rather than assuming it matches the invoice date. The servicer may pay before the due date listed on the bill.
