Editorial Standards and Corrections

Last updated November 7, 2026

FinToku publishes educational finance guides and calculators. Saad Faisal is the site's founder and editor. We are not a lender, loan broker or financial advisory service. An author byline identifies responsibility for a page; it does not imply a professional financial qualification.

Our standard for loan guides

Loan content should answer a specific borrower question, explain relevant tradeoffs, and distinguish a hypothetical example from an available lender offer. Our new loan guides link to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau for consumer guidance. Readers should verify actual rates, fees, eligibility and terms in their lender's disclosures.

We use US dollars and US consumer-loan context unless a page says otherwise. State rules, contracts and individual circumstances can change the answer.

Sources and calculations

Regulators, government agencies and original lender disclosures take priority over third-party summaries. A source link supports a particular claim; it is not an endorsement of FinToku. Illustrative calculations state their assumptions, including whether fees are deducted or paid separately. Monthly models may differ from daily-interest lender schedules and rounding.

Dates and corrections

Publication and update dates appear with each guide. An update should reflect a material change, rather than a date change alone. Older articles and tools may still need review, so a new policy does not mean every historical statement has been independently verified.

To report an error, contact us or email info@fintoku.com. Include the page address, the statement or calculator inputs, the expected result and a supporting source where available. We can then investigate and correct the relevant page.

Advertising and assistance with writing

Advertising or affiliate compensation should not determine a calculator result or justify a recommendation. Where a compensated link appears, the relationship should be clear near that link. See the affiliate disclosure.

AI tools may assist drafting and site development. AI output is not a source of financial facts or proof of firsthand experience. No page should claim an independent professional review unless a named person actually performed it. The financial disclaimer explains the limits of the information provided here.

Public-data and directory standards

Source-based directories identify the publisher, snapshot or API version, checked date and included fields. Imported files retain source identifiers or line references for corrections. Count and uniqueness checks validate preparation; they do not independently verify every statement in a source record. Snapshot data stays fixed until a new import. OpenFEMA results are requested live, so source revisions and service availability affect results.

We distinguish historical records from current provider or program research. Counts must use the correct unit: applications and loans, complaint IDs, policy transactions or registrations. A complaint is not a finding; a source record is not a recommendation or guarantee of current availability. Each methodology explains omissions and privacy choices.

Resource selection and topic connections

The loan resource library distinguishes original FinToku fillable PDFs from official external guides. Selection focuses on common borrowing tasks; we do not claim measured keyword-volume rankings. External publishers maintain their own content, and a link check is not a professional review of every financial claim.

Related links connect a guide with a relevant calculator, worksheet or directory. These connections help readers move from explanation to research and planning; historical records cannot replace a current written quote. Source corrections should be sent to the originating publisher as well as reported to us when our copy is affected.
